Laboratory of Social Education

The overall objective of the LES is to study, analyze and reflect on current and future issues in the field of social education and related fields, in order to positively impact the social and educational sphere. To achieve this, a mixed methodological approach and an interdisciplinary perspective are adopted that, articulated in the theory of education and social pedagogy, anthropology and sociology, dialogue with other disciplines (psychology, political science, etc.). The group's lines of research to respond to this objective are included in three strata: 1. Reflection and development of educational theory: models of social education, pedagogical thinking, disability pedagogy, cultural diversity. 2. Analysis of policies and practices: socio-educational institutions and the third sector, broad educational policies and educational inequalities, socio-health policies and social inequalities in health, training and socio-labor insertion, strategies for preventing school dropouts. 3. Improvement of professional practice based on action research: advice, initial training and professional development of the educator, communities of practice in the field of socio-educational action, critical digital training of professionals in the social field, training of socio-health personnel, etc.
