Behavioural Design Lab

We are a research group at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) focused on analyzing the principles, models, and techniques that promote behavior change through technology, both at the individual and public health levels. We design, implement, and evaluate interventions to analyze their ability to modify behaviors in individuals, groups, and populations. Our research topics include assessing the effectiveness of mobile applications for behavioral change, using behavioral design techniques for adolescent health literacy, and applying ICT for therapeutic adherence. We participate in public health interventions and health and social policies in areas such as therapeutic adherence, environmental sustainability, adolescent health literacy, and the adoption of healthy habits. Since 2003, we have worked in digital health through the PSiNET group (SGR197-2009, SGR858-2014, SGR239-2017), which has evolved into our current group specializing in behavioral design. We are part of research and innovation networks such as Xartec, led by CREB UPC and comprising 81 groups from 23 institutions, and TECSAM, led by Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu and made up of 49 groups. BDLab is recognized as a Consolidated Group by the Generalitat de Catalunya (SGR198-2021).
