Food, Nutrition, Society and Health Interdisciplinary Research Group

The research group carries out a multidisciplinary scientific activity focused on the comprehensive study of food, health, and aging from three major convergent perspectives: social sciences, health sciences, and biomedicine. The main objective is to generate knowledge to address current social and health challenges, ranging from the transformation of food systems towards sustainability to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of aging and disease. The group's activity is organized through competitive national and international projects (Horizon Europe, Plan Nacional, La Marató de TV3), covering everything from the promotion of healthy habits and the analysis of food heritage to basic research on cellular senescence and new therapeutic strategies.
