Diversity inclusion
The team aims to analyze the phenomenon of inclusion and attention to diversity from various perspectives and in different contexts. Firstly, the aim is to explore the perspectives of students on online higher education, taking the UOC as a research context. Under this line, we are committed to the development of applied research, aimed at proposing improvements in educational and administrative processes, optimizing academic processes and promoting the adoption of a curricular pedagogical design focused on inclusion. Likewise, this objective extends to the study of diversity in other related fields, actively participating in the design and execution of research projects related to educational and social inclusion. With this approach, MISS shows its commitment to the inclusion of all people in education and society in general, regardless of their condition, origin, beliefs, gender, age, social situation, among others. Education research methods. In this way, through the application of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, it aims to invite reflection on research methods and continue to disseminate the correct application of these methodologies in research practice.
The MISS group is committed to advising on the improvement of online higher education with the aim of promoting the academic success of all students. To make knowledge accessible to the rest of society, the members of the group periodically participate in the dissemination of research through various national and international academic forums, as well as in informative media and the general press.
The members of the group collaborate with non-profit entities and public organizations in the preparation of reports that can be accessible to the majority of the population, and that have an impact on the policies to be implemented in society. In addition, a large part of the team participates as teaching staff in various UOC programs (Degree in Psychology, Degree in Social Education, Degree in Applied Data Science; Doctorate and Master's Program in Education and ICT) in various studies (EPCE, EIMT) and with a multidisciplinary perspective. On the other hand, some members of the group are part of the Learning and Teaching Analysis team of the eLearning Innovation Center (eLinc).
