- Research on historical processes in relation to social and demographic transformations and state structures, and the modulation of cultural responses within the framework of tradition and modernity. - Research on the manifestations and practices relating to the history of art and culture as well as research on the processes of transformation of debates and disciplinary methodologies. - The promotion of academic and public debate through the organization of seminars and conferences, to encourage a dialogue on the issues analyzed, while involving both international and national comparisons, as well as the critical review of historical and historiographical sources
