Doctor by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya with the thesis Feminismes al teatre català contemporani (2000-2019) 2021. Supervised by Dr. Teresa Iribarren Donadeu.

Adriana Nicolau Jiménez is a professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Her research has focused on the study of contemporary Catalan theatre in relation to gender and feminism. Her thesis was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Award and an honorary mention of the Josep Carner Prize (Institut d'Estudis Catalans). She has also received the 2024 Serra d’Or Critics Award in Performing Arts for organizing, with Gemma Pellissa, an international symposium on Catalan female playwrights. She has presented invited talks in the Catalan Countries, the Canary Islands and the United Kingdom and has been a member of the research groups Creation and Thought of Women (UB), LiCMES and GRESOL (UOC). Concerning dissemination, she works as a theatre critic, and is a member of the editorial board of Entreacte magazine and of the jury of the Performing Arts Critics Awards in Catalonia.
