Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Evolutionary Bags of Space-Time Features for Human Analysis 2016. Supervised by Dr. Hugo Jair Escalante, Dr. Sergio Escalera Guerrero, Dr. Xavier Baró Solé.

The R&D activities of Víctor Ponce López focus on the automated analysis of human behaviour using artificial intelligence algorithms and, in particular, computer vision and statistical learning. His main interests are studying the perception of social signals in space-time by means of facial and sub-gestural recognition and scene analysis. He is currently studying the programme for the Doctorate in Computing, Languages and Systems Sciences. He is a member of the BCN Perceptual Computing Lab (BCNPCL) virtual R&D group, which brings together researchers from different Catalan universities and research centres, and of the UOC's IN3, in particular its SUNAI (Scene Understanding and Artificial Intelligence Lab) R&D group. Additionally, he is a member of the University of Barcelona Faculty of Mathematics' Department of Applied Mathematics and Analysis and of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona's Computer Vision Centre.
