Alexandre Pichel Vázquez is a predoctoral researcher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and member of the MEDUSA research group (https://blogs.uoc.edu/medusa/). He has a degree in Political Science from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), a master's degree in Communication from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and a master's degree in Gender Studies from the Inter-university Institute of Women's and Gender Studies (IIEDG). He is currently receiving a grant from the Ministry of University's University Teachers Training Programme (Ref. FPU19/04981, Nov. 2020-Oct. 2023) to work on his doctoral thesis. His work focuses on observing the links between gender, the body and objects of love for the far-right in Spain, based on various ethnographic techniques. His research interests include gender studies, the mass media, affective theory, studies of populism and new social movements, and far-right politics.
