Stéphanie Rivera Vallvé is a professor of Commercial Law at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona (UB) and a degree in Biology from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). Alongside her academic credentials, she practiced as a criminal lawyer. Her research activity has focused on two main areas: directors’ and officers’ liability insurance and strategies for student motivation promotion via gamification and ICT. Currently, her main research fields are pharmaceutical inventions and data protection, specifically those related to genetic identity and molecular profiles. Since her incorporation as a professor into the Faculty of Law and Political Science, she has been a member of the DITD research group (Law, Internet and Digital Transformation).
