Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Els factors d'influència en l'ús educatiu d'internet per part del professorat d'educació primària i secundària obligatòria de Catalunya 2008. Supervised by Dr. César Coll Salvador.

The R&D activities of researcher Carles Sigalés focus on the study of the evolution of education systems and the role played therein by ICT. His main research interests are the processes of integrating ICT into education and those of encouraging educational innovation. He also specialises in education policies. He is a member of the UOC's ENS (Education and Networked Society) R&D group.
