Maite Puigdevall Serralvo's research work focuses on critical sociolinguistics and linguistic policy and planning, specifically on the study of language and identity issues; language and immigration; new speakers of Catalan and minority languages, and linguistic policies for minority languages. She is a member of the IdentiCat (Language, Culture and Identity in the Global Age) research group.
