Núria Vega holds a PhD in Society, Technology, and Culture from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), with a dissertation titled Feminist Practices for a Democratic Digitalisation of the Social and Solidarity Economy (2025). She is currently the coordinator of the Education and Awareness area at the Fundació Espigoladors. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and in Sociology from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and has over ten years of experience in innovation and digital communication consultancy. Since 2017, she has been involved in various projects related to the social and solidarity economy in the city of Barcelona, promoted by cooperatives and organisations such as Opcions Consum Responsable, FoodCoop BCN, FemProcomuns, and the Fundació Goteo. She has published articles in internationally recognised academic journals and co-edited the book Cooperativisme i agroecologia a Barcelona. 25 anys: 1993–2018, an essay published by Comanegra. She is also a co-founder of (Des)vestint Aliments, an artistic and pedagogical project focused on rethinking our relationship with food. Until February 2024, she was affiliated with the Dimmons action-research group and the Barcelona UOC Chair in Digital Economy (MatchImpulsa), promoted by the UOC, Barcelona City Council, and Barcelona Activa. Since March of the same year, she has been part of TURBA Lab – Laboratory of Urban Transformation and Global Change.
