Doctor by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya with the thesis Design of pedagogical scenarios adapting the MISA method to the IMS LD specification 2010. Supervised by Dr. Olga Mariño.

Marcelo Fabián Maina's R&I activity centres on emerging technologies and teaching methodologies applied to the design of innovative learning environments and experiences. His main research interests are the models and methods of design for learning, active pedagogy, personalized learning and personal learning environments, the assessment and certification of competences, open educational resources and practices, leadership and the digital transformation of education. He specializes in the training of trainers, the management of digital learning projects and prospective studies of educational technologies and scenarios in gestation. He is also a member of the UOC's Edul@b Education and ICT research group.
