Doctor by the Universidad de Málaga with the thesis Metodología para la presencia de las zonas turísticas españolas en Internet. 2006. Supervised by Dr. Antonio Jesús Guevara Plaza, Dr. Pedro Raya Mellado.
Holder of a doctoral degree in Economics and Business Studies from the University of Málaga. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Studies from the same university, with two specializations: Public Economy, and Regional and Urban Economy. He is currently a member of the teaching staff at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's Faculty of Economics and Business. He is coordinating professor for tourism and ICT courses in the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and the Master's Degree in Sustainable Tourism and ICTs. Previously, he was a faculty member for more than 10 years at the Pablo de Olavide University's Department of Economics and Business (currently the Department of Business Organization and Marketing), where he gave courses on information systems, in both Spanish and English. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's New Tourism Laboratory . Previously, he was a member of the Pablo de Olavide University's Sociology and Local Policies research group and the University of Málaga's EUMEDNET research group.
