Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Factors estratègics en la implantació del model de costos per activitas (activity-based costing). Descripció i avaluació 2005. Supervised by Dr. Alfredo Rocafort Nicolau.

I have a PhD in Economics and a master's degree in Tax and Financial Management for Businesses, both from the University of Barcelona. I am currently the UOC's President. Previously, Vice President for Competitiveness and Employability, and the dean of the university's Faculty of Economics and Business. I am also Deputy Chair of the Catalan Professional Association of Economists, Vice President of the Catalan Association of Accounting and Management, and a member of the Government of Catalonia's Economic Policy Advisory Board. I combine my academic work with other professional consultancy work in the fields of finance and management. My research interests include financial reporting harmonization processes, management control systems and the impact of e-learning on professional skills.
