Cintia Pla-García (Barcelona, 1981) is the Academic Director of Continuing Training in the Marketing Area and Program Director of the Postgraduate in Marketing Director and Sales Management at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She also collaborates with AIEOU Hub Research, AI in Education, within the Department of Education at Oxford University. Since 2009, she has been a Lecturer in Business and Economic Studies, and since 2017, she has directed various marketing programs at UOC, including the Postgraduate in Consumer Research, Corporate Communication and Image Management, and the Master’s in Marketing Management and Communication. She has also led the Master’s in Marketing and Commercial Management within UOC Corporate, tailored for Catalana Occidente professionals. She has taught subjects in marketing and mathematics, collaborated with international universities such as UNIMINUTO, and co-directed programs with executive education institutions like EADA. Since 2017, she has curated marketing content for the UOC Business and Economics Studies Blog. Pla-García holds a PhD in Business from the University of Barcelona, a Technical Engineering degree in Management Information Technology from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia Computing from Glyndŵr University, a Master’s in Market Research from the University of Barcelona, and a Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Society from UOC. She is currently pursuing an Online Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation from Business School Founderz, certified by Microsoft. She is a member of multiple professional and academic organizations, in relation to the company, both national, ACEDE, and international, such as the British Academic of Management (BAM), in relation to marketing, such as Club de Marketing Barcelona and AMKT (Spanish Marketing Association), as well as of a more technological nature such as Women Tech Network, Women in Tech. She is also an ambassador for Women Tech Network and Women Data Science (WiDS) Worldwide and represents the UOC in the project "Connecting Enterprise with Young Talent" of the Club de Marketing Barcelona¡. Her research interests include consumer motivations, e-Learning, sustainability, the sharing economy, the Economy for the Common Good, and artificial intelligence. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. As a researcher, she has been part of consolidated research groups such as the Digital Business Research Group (DigiBiz) and the Management and e-Learning (MeL) Research Group at UOC. She is currently co-supervising three doctoral theses, two of which focus on AI adaptation. She is a certified peer reviewer for Elsevier and Springer Nature and has contributed to the academic journal Education and Information Technologies, the official journal of the IFIP Technical Committees in association with UNESCO. Pla-García participated in the European Innovation and Research Project TeSLA, which developed an AI-based e-assessment system for authenticating students in online learning environments. She has also been part of the Organizing Committee for multiple editions of the International Conference on Advances in National Brand and Private Label Marketing (NB&PL), the first scientific congress in this field, whose proceedings are published by Springer.
