The R&I activity of researcher Cristina Pérez Solà focuses on information privacy and security. In particular, her main research interests focus on blockchain-based cryptocurrencies and social media.  In the case of cryptocurrencies, Dr Pérez Solà's research seeks both to create new protocols that offer privacy and/or security guarantees by leveraging the properties of cryptocurrencies, and also to study and improve existing protocols. In the case of the social media, her research focuses on studying the privacy problems associated with their use. She is a member of the UOC's K-riptography and Information Security for Open Networks (KISON) research group.
