Doctor by the Universitat de Girona with the thesis El sistema d'informació de campus per a estudiants en les universitats espanyoles caracterització i anàlisi 2006. Supervised by Dr. Antoni Puig-Pey Saurí.

Researcher Josep Cobarsí's R&I work focuses on the study of information and knowledge management in organizations. His main research interests are information behaviour and information management in crisis and emergency situations. He also specializes in competitive intelligence, information systems and health information. He is a member of the KIMO (Knowledge and Information Management in Organizations) research group and also works with the UOC eHealth Center.
