Sergio Lopez Soriano has a bachelor's degree (2012) and a PhD (2018) in Telecommunications Engineering. He is a researcher in the Wireless Networks (WiNe) group at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and adjunct professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He was previously a contracted researcher at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). He has made research visits to the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP) in France and the Pervasive Electromagnetics Lab in Italy, two pioneering centres in research into the development of chipless RFID and UHF RFID systems, respectively. His current interests include the design of different radiofrequency (RF) devices for the sensing of different physical magnitudes and biomarkers, RF device characterization and low-cost passive localization.
