The R+D+I activity of M. Elena Rodríguez González is focused on e-learning, more specifically in the technology-enhanced learning field to improve the teaching-learning process, the assessment process, the student and faculty decision-making process, and the literacy aspects arising from the use of technology in education. It is multidisciplinary research that seeks an impact in the field of online and blended education. It addresses the conceptual design and the creation of educational tools and resources for learning, their testing and integration into authentic learning environments, and the evaluation of their impact and acceptance. Her research lines include, first, the development of intelligent tutoring systems that provide timely feedback so that students can gradually acquire the skills related to the field in which they are used. Second, in the conceptualization, use, and evaluation of systems to ensure academic integrity (authentication and authorship) in the assessment process. Third, in conceptualizing, using, and evaluating educational tools based on artificial intelligence, specifically in early warning systems for students at risk of failing a course or dropping out. She has been former member of the TEKING research group (http://teking.uoc.edu) of the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunications.
