Doctor by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the thesis Complexity theory in quality assessment Case studies in sustainability science for governance 2015. Supervised by Dr. Mario Giampietro.
I am a Ramon y Cajal Research Fellow at the Estudis d'Economia i Empresa and I am part of the Urban Transformation and Global Change (TURBA) lab. My research focuses on the science-policy interface, and I study how science is mobilised in policy processes that deal with sustainability through the lenses of complexity theory, post-normal science and uncertainty assessment. I am particularly interested in the role of metrics and innovation in the governance of complex socio-ecological systems. I have worked with case studies related to energy transitions, circular economy, urban development and the digital turn in environmental governance.
