Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Adquisió d'informació lèxica i morfosintàctica a partir de corpus sense anotar: aplicació al rus i al croat 2004. Supervised by Dr. Lluís Márquez Villodre, Dr. Irene Castellón Masalles.

He is an full professor in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and director of the University Master's Degree in Translation and Technologies. I have a PhD in Linguistics, a degree in Slavic Philology, a degree in Telecommunications and a master's degree in Free Software. He is a member of Interuniversity Research Group in Linguistic Applications (GRIAL). He is involved in several research projects related to computational linguistics and translation. His teaching, research and technology transfer activities are related to natural language processing and, more specifically, machine translation and automatic terminology extraction.
