Doctor by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the thesis The nuberu bagu film trend as an artistic correlate of the japanese new left. A political reading of cultural productions 2020. Supervised by Dr. Blai Guarné Cabello.
He is a political scientist and Juan de la Cierva - Formación postdoctoral researcher (Government of Spain - Next Generation EU). His studies focus on political ideologies, democratic processes and aesthetic movements in East Asia, with a special interest in modern Japan. He completed the UOC Master's Degree in Chinese and Japanese Studies: Contemporary World (Special Award) and a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies (International Doctorate mention) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, as a recipient of a FI-DGR grant (AGAUR, Government of Catalonia - European Social Fund). He has also carried out research stays at Kobe University in Japan (thanks to a JASSO scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom and at the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute in Japan (with a grant from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Programme for Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields). He authored the book Izquierda y revolución. Una historia política del Japón de posguerra [Left and Revolution. A Political History of Post-War Japan] (Edicions Bellaterra, 2020) and has published articles in academic journals such as positions, The Sixties, Arts, L'Atalante and Estudios de Asia y África.
