The R&D activities of researcher Eva Ortoll Espinet focus on the study of information and knowledge management in organisations. Her research centres on the strategic and organisational aspects of information and knowledge management on the basis of the development of theoretical frameworks, the use of computer simulation models and the in-depth analysis of case studies using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. It is currently carrying out in-depth examinations of a number of specific subjects: · The role of knowledge as key strategic element in organisations. · The creation, transfer and use of knowledge in large scientific experiments. · Information and knowledge flows in social networks. · The competitive intelligence function and the use of resources arising from organisations' social capital. She is a member of the UOC's KIMO (Knowledge and Information Management in Organisations) R&D group.
