Teresa Romeu is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). She is responsible for coordinating the initial online training for new teaching and research staff and collaborating professors who join the university. She coordinates digital competences subject in different UOC degree programs and courses in the teaching track of the Master's Degree in Education and ICT. She is a researcher with the Edul@b research group (UOC) and collaborates with the UNESCO Chair in Education and Technology for Social Change. She is a member of the learning and teaching thematic groups of the European University Association (EUA) and has been recognized as an EDEN Fellow (2021) by EDEN Digital Learning Europe (DLE). She has collaborated with the Government of Catalonia since 2005, where she participated in the definition of the Catalan accreditation in digital skills (ACTIC). He has contributed significantly to his field through numerous national and European projects. I would highlight those related to digital skills: WINDEE (2025-2028): “Well-being in the digital educational ecosystem”; DIGITAL WBL (2022-2025): “Digitization of experiential learning and WBL, addressing work-based digital learning”; Super RED (2021-2024): “Supporting self-regulated learning in emergency distance education”; ECOLHE (2020-2023): “Enhancing skills for Onlife learning in higher education”; CRISS (2016-2019): “Demonstration of a scalable and cost-effective cloud-based digital learning infrastructure through the certification of digital skills in primary and secondary education.” The R&D activity of researcher Teresa Romeu focuses on investigating emerging educational scenarios and open, flexible, and online teaching and learning strategies with the aim of transforming and improving educational practice. She studies how institutions, organizations, teachers, and administrators are dealing with these new scenarios, especially those mediated by digital technologies, to anticipate changes and improve teaching and learning processes. She considers students to be lifelong learners (from school to retirement). The main interests of his research are collaborative teaching, online teaching, and training in the uses and applications of digital technologies for different areas (citizenship and professionals) and educational levels (primary, secondary, vocational training, university). They also include training, assessment, and accreditation in digital competencies and learning ecologies as a basis for development.
