Doctor by the Universitat Ramon Llull with the thesis Cinefilia y crítica de cine en España (1990-2000). Una aproximación sociocultural 2010. Supervised by Dr. Josep Lluis Fece Gómez.
PhD in Communication and Humanities, I have taught journalism and audiovisual communication at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the University of the Balearic Islands, and the Carlos III University of Madrid, as well as a visiting researcher at the University of Manchester. My academic background stems from cultural studies and feminism, through which I analyze the relationships between culture, society, and the media around three axes of research: - Creative industries: analysis of the spaces, agents, and institutions involved in the design, promotion, and regulation of creative practices - Cultural identities and practices: analysis of cultural scenes, communities, and creative practices in film and the media. - Media representations and social imaginaries: critical analysis of media, social, and institutional texts, narratives, and discourses. In 2011, the Spanish Association of Film Historians awarded me the prize for best research for the monograph "Fans, cinéfilos y cinéfagos. Una aproximación a las culturas y los gustos cinematográficos" (Editorial UOC).
