Victor Garcia-Font graduated as a Computer Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in 2005. He began his professional career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a software developer. Following this, he worked as a research assistant at The Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), focusing on the development of environmental information systems for several years. In 2014, he embarked on an industrial doctorate thesis in the field of information security. In early 2017, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), where he explored anomaly detection in smart city wireless sensor networks. Currently, he serves as a full-time associate professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunications at UOC, as well as an assistant professor at the UAB. He teaches primarily on topics related to information security and blockchain. Additionally, he is a member of the K-riptography and Information Security for Open Networks (KISON) research group. His current research interests lie in the areas of blockchain, machine learning, and smart cities.
