Doctor by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili with the thesis Estadios preliminares del contrato de trabajo y técnicas de selección de trabajadores. Análisis aplicado al caso de las pymes industriales innovadoras 2012. Supervised by Dr. Manuel Ahedo Santisteban, Dr. Miguel Angel Purcalla Bonilla.
Currently, UOC faculty member Antonio Fernández García's research activity focuses on the stages prior to the employment contract, specifically in the following three areas: active employment policies, especially the promotion of employment contracts and entrepreneurship for groups with greater difficulties in finding employment; labour intermediary services, recruitment and selection of personnel for private companies, with special emphasis on the use of digital tools; and, finally, the fundamental rights affected by the above, especially the right to non-discrimination, privacy and the protection of personal data. His publications and participation in competitive projects, congresses and conferences are interdisciplinary in nature (labour law, social security, labour relations, human resource management, sociology, etc.), making coordination with the team essential. He is a member of the UOC's Taxation, Labour Relations and Business (TAXBUSINESS) R&I group.
