Clara Selva's research activity is encompassed within the field of work and organizational psychology, with phenomena such as career paths, university qualifications or gender, encompassing different areas of knowledge (medicine, nursing or psychology) through the use of qualitative methodology. More recently, this research activity has expanded toward the practicum and the research lines arising from it, such as online internships or prospective studies of student satisfaction with internships. She currently works with two consolidated research groups: People who Work in Organizations, PeTro (UAB), coordinated by Professor Josep M. Blanch, and Applied Clinical and Health Research (UAB, Hospital Sant Pau), led by Dr Xavier Bonfill. Some of her main research lines have been transferred to different institutions or administrations.
