Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Epidemiologia de les infeccions respiratòries víriques en pacients pediàtrics a Manhiça, una zona rural de Moçambic 2011. Supervised by Dr. Anna Roca Aparicio.

My research focuses on the health impacts of anthropogenic changes to Earth’s natural systems, aiming to identify solutions that promote global health within the planet’s ecological boundaries. My work is structured around three main lines: (1) environmental pollution and health, currently centered on the impact of heavy metal contamination from extractive industries on the health of Indigenous communities in the Global South; (2) climate change and human health, with a particular focus on the effects of high temperatures on vulnerable groups such as workers and the elderly; and (3) capacity building in planetary health education, through the integration of planetary health as a cross-cutting theme in undergraduate programs and support for the development of new postgraduate training initiatives in this field.
