Doctor by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) with the thesis Logic synthesis techniques for high-speed circuits 2008. Supervised by Dr. Jordi Cortadella Fortuny, Dr. Mike Kishinevsky.
David Bañeres was awarded a doctoral degree in Software by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2008. The main theme of his research was to develop new methodologies for minimizing circuits at a logical and physical level, focusing on increasing speed and reducing size. At the UOC, his research has evolved in the field of e-learning in the development of new learning tools, such as intelligent tutors and support for teaching staff. His work currently focuses on designing new intelligent tutors, use of gamification techniques associated with the classroom, e-authentication tools in e-assessment, predictive tools applied to analysing students’ learning, and analysis and use of open data sources. He is a member of the Systems, Software and Models (SOM Research Lab) research group at the UOC.
