Miquel Peguera is Full Professor of Law at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Barcelona, Spain. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona (2006), with a doctoral dissertation on the liability of Internet intermediary service providers. He served as Deputy Dean for Research at the UOC’s School of Law and Political Science (2020–25). He has been an Affiliate Scholar at the Stanford Center for Internet & Society since 2014 and Co-editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property, Information Technology and E-Commerce Law (jipitec.eu) since 2011. He was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University School of Law (2007–08). His research focuses on the legal aspects of the internet, particularly copyright, trademarks, privacy, intermediary liability, and artificial intelligence. He has published extensively in these fields from both EU and US perspectives. He is also a consultant with the Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas.
