Hug March Corbella is Professor in the Economics and Business Faculty and researcher of the Urban Transformation and Global Change Laboratory (TURBA Lab) of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, 2005) and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the UAB (2010). March is an expert in sustainability and ecological transition, urban political ecology, water cycle management and urban studies.  His academic contribution is in the field of urban studies, geography and urban political ecology, and contributes to understanding the different processes (technological, sociodemographic, political-economic) that influence socio-environmental governance and ecological transition. The R&I activity of professor Hug March Corbella focuses on the analysis of the new paradigms of urban sustainability (smart city, resilience, urban agriculture, etc.), the political ecology of ecological transition and changes in governance and the political economy of natural resources, with special attention to water resources. His main research interests are urban political ecology, urban water management, the political economy of the hydrological cycle, management models and the emergence of new supply technologies, and the intersection between ecological transition and digital transition in a context of climate emergency.  He is a member of the UOC TURBA Lab research group.
