Irene Rovira's teaching and research activity focuses on taxation, particularly on aspects related to family, real estate and economic activity taxation. Mindful of today's pressing issues, one of her main research lines aims to determine the tax implications of situations brought about by COVID-19 (especially given the now-widespread nature of remote working), while analysing how these situations should be correctly taxed and proposing improvements after working out the main problems and needs.  She also studies regional and local taxation and, more generally, the distribution of taxing power, essential aspects for painting a full picture of the tax system.
