Raquel Viejo holds a PhD in Neuroscience and master’s degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology. She is a member of the Cognitive NeuroLab research group, where her research work centres on the study of the neural bases of cognitive control and other related processes through the use of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. She also researches these techniques' potential to treat substance addiction and in the rehabilitation of cognitive deterioration in Parkinson’s disease. Since 2016, she has worked with the Laboratory for Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation (Massachusetts General Hospital), where she studies the neural bases of emotional processing and their alterations through functional magnetic resonance.
