Doctor by the Universidad de Deusto with the thesis Un modelo descriptivo de la participación política. Concepto, dimensionalidad y tipología de participantes. Su aplicación empírica al País Vasco 2001. Supervised by Dr. José Ignacio Ruiz Olabuénaga.
Full Professor of Political Science in the Law and Political Science Department at the UOC. Leader of the consolidated research group CNSC within the TRÀNSIC Unit at the UOC. She has served as Deputy Director of the UOC’s PhD program in the Information and Knowledge Society, Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan and the University of Stavanger, Senior Researcher at Pompeu Fabra University, and Associate Professor at the University of Portland. PhD in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Deusto, Bilbao. She has been Principal Investigator (PI) of 11 competitive research projects and has published over 50 articles, book chapters, and monographs. Her research areas include online participation and deliberation, hybrid democratic innovations, and the use of digital platforms and social networks by municipalities and political parties.
