His main research lines revolve around the following themes: Social well-being, social services and social protection, with particular reference to vulnerable population groups, poverty and social exclusion. Rural world and services for the population, rural development and governance as an alternative model to urban life and urban world. Social services for elderly and disabled people, with particular reference to subjects related with incapacitation, abuse, loneliness and care. Ethics and social services: the ethics of care, ethics committees. Social work and health: influence of social factors on health.
