Laura Fólica is a postdoctoral researcher in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3). She is a member of the Global Literary Studies Research Lab (GlobaLS) and principal investigator (together with Diana Roig-Sanz) of the Global Translation Flows line of research. She is also a member of the project ERC StG MapModern – Social Networks of the Past. Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity, 1898-1959 (grant agreement: 803860). Her fields of work are the sociology of translation, Latin American studies, periodicals and digital humanities. She is currently analysing literary translation in a corpus of Ibero-American periodicals, using digital tools and data mining from a transnational, large-scale perspective. She has published over thirty articles and book chapters on literary translation from a historical and sociological perspective. She has translated books for Ibero-American publishers focused on the humanities and social sciences by authors such as P. Casanova, R. Chartier, E. Roudinesco, G. Sapiro, J. M. Schaeffer, and E. Traverso.
