Roger Martínez Sanmartí is a Lecturer of the Arts and Humanities Studies, Director of the Sociology degree program, and a member of the IDENTICAT research group at the Open University of Catalonia. He teaches courses in sociology and cultural studies. His research explores the relationship between culture and inequality, focusing on areas such as education, youth cultures, cultural tastes, and consumption. Currently, he is investigating how more or less heterogeneous relational infrastructures influence the dispositions and trajectories of young people. He holds degrees in Information Sciences (Journalism) and Political Science and Sociology (Sociology) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he also earned his PhD in Sociology, with part of his fieldwork carried out in Birmingham when he was Batista i Roca Fellow at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge.
