Francesc Saigí is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Barcelona, Spain. He is currently Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for eHealth at the same faculty (https://www.uoc.edu/portal/ca/ehealth-center/ehc-mon/centre-colaborador -oms/index.html). His main research interests include the definition, implementation and evaluation of new digital health services, in particular, telemedicine and eHealth; and the use of eHealth and ICT to promote changes in health-related behaviour, improve population health and prevent chronic diseases. In parallel, since he began his professional life at the UOC, he has been dedicated to innovating in digital health training and the use of social networks for the exchange of knowledge in health. He has participated in 15 R&D projects. He is also the co-author of more than 40 articles that have either been published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals, 37 of which are JCR-indexed; more than a dozen in non-indexed journals, mainly related to e-health; and more than 30 publications in academic and research books. He is founder and scientific advisor of CICUT (Clúster Iberoamericano de Colaboración Universitaria en Telemedicina) (http://cicut.net) and principal investigator of the CYTED - RITMOS network (Red Iberoamericana de Tecnologías Móviles en Salud, RITMOS, ref. 515RT0498 ) (https://sites.google.com/a/uoc.edu/ritmos/).
