ePrivacy Directive: assessment of transposition, effectiveness and compatibility with proposed Data Protection Regulation

Of European scope.

The basic research entails the mapping of the transposition of the ePrivacy Directive as well as making an assessment of the implementation and functioning thereof in each Member State, with a particular focus on article 3, 5(1), 5(3), 6 and 9, 13 on commercial communications; and applicability of national law. This information is to be gathered on the basis of desk research and carrying out a set of interviews, in particular addressing privacy and data protection commissioners and electronic communications regulatory authorities. Detailed questions and guidelines will be included in the questionnaire and reporting is to be done relying on provided standard reporting templates.
