Of European scope.

We often talk in the literature and within institutions about content in science education at school. Studies show that content criteria can be used to evaluate the effectiveness and the methodology used by teachers in teaching science at school. However, relevant STEM education requires and depends on many external factors to the content of school curricula and teacher training. We asked ourselves with our European consortium the question of how to apprehend the value of STEM education apart from the acquisition of knowledge ? And how to evaluate and legitimize these multiple and intangible factors that make science education relevant, complex, inclusive and reflective of the sciences of today and the world around us. We are engaged in this project as following : if knowledge is central in STEM education, it is as important and necessary to consider at the same time the way it is learned (as a cognitive and critical process).
