The proposed research is centered in the study and development of novel synchronization methods for terrestrial and aerial IoT devices exploiting nano-satellite communications. The key challenge is to adjust the sleep periods of the IoT devices to the satellite coverage window in order to ensure the reliable data delivery while the IoT device energy consumption is minimized.
